Mission Statement

The mission of Somerset High School is to prepare our students for on-time high school graduation or transfer back to their comprehensive high school.  Somerset High School will also improve students’ ability to communicate effectively, to be responsible citizens who are caring and contributing members of society, and to think critically, being able to solve problems in their future post-secondary institution of learning or occupation.

The 3 C's

The 3 C’s were developed as a way to have staff and students easily identify and remember the key components of our learner outcomes and positive behavioral interventions and supports .  Graduates of Somerset High School will have the foundation of the 3 C’s:  They will be effective Communicators, responsible Citizens, and Critical thinkers.  Teachers have committed to focusing on written communication, specifically nonfiction writing backed by textual evidence.  This focus will help Somerset students be effective communicators, collaborators and critical thinkers,

The 3 C's are also used in all behavioral interventions to help students learn the positive behaviors that will help them be successful academically and socially in high school and in their post-secondary endeavors.
